ReadyMoms Alliance

ReadyMoms Alliance is a US-registered (2008) non-profit organization that promotes pandemic awareness and preparedness education for individuals, families and communities. Our work consists of 3 areas:

1. Community outreach: Volunteers work directly with the public or through local governments, organizations, or businesses to present information on pandemic influenza, impact on families and communities, and ways to prepare for this and other disasters. We promote community resilience and encourage citizen engagement in planning activities. Recent partners include Pennsylvania Department of Health, Roche, and Wyeth.

2. Professional outreach: We prepare educational materials such as posters and pamphlets to support professionals tasked with pandemic risk communication and public education. These can be downloaded as full-package ‘toolkits’ or individually. All materials are printer-ready, customizable, and offered free under GNU or similar licenses.

We present frequently at professional events eg Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza 2008 (organized by the Infectious Diseases Society of America), American College Health Association Convention, National Emergency Management Summit, Public Health Preparedness Summit 2008, and the National PTA Convention.

3. Web-based resources: Our website www.ReadyMoms.org serves as repository for our support materials. Content include information written for the general public, selected news headlines and summaries, plus feature articles on issues of interest, from science to policy to preparedness tips. We use Web 2.0 blogging platform to ensure information is constantly updated.

ReadyMoms Alliance is a US public charity (IRS status pending) supported by donations and public funds and staffed by unpaid volunteers. Please contact us at info@readymoms.org for partnering opportunities.
