Aptamers 2020 Cancellation/Postponement Notice

Dear friends and colleagues,

As you may be aware, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has triggered the enforcement of several measures, including institutional travel bans and international air travel restrictions. Furthermore, recently, there has also been a rapid rise in the number of COVID-19 infections in the UK, which has created an uncertain and fluid situation. Thus, further stricter measures to control the spread of COVID-19 are likely to be imposed in the UK in the coming days, such as restrictions on (particularly international) public gatherings.

We have consulted several senior colleagues about the possibility of holding our meeting under these compelling circumstances. Unsurprisingly, there has been an overwhelming support for the postponement of this conference.

Therefore, after careful consideration in the light of these developments, and to safeguard the health and well-being of our delegates, we have taken the financially difficult and disappointing decision to postpone the aptamers meeting at least until 16-17 September 2020. These new dates come with the caveat that the COVID-19 situation will be under control by then. If not, the meeting may be delayed further, possibly until March/April 2021.

We are offering our registered delegates the transfer of their registration to the new dates and capping any fee increases. Alternatively, we will be happy to make a refund of the fees received in accordance with our force majeure cancellation policy.
