Welcome message from the Editor-in-Chief

I am delighted to welcome you to the launch of The Journal of Venom Research by Library Publishing Media. I wish to extend my gratitude to the Senior Associate Editors and the members of the Editorial Board as they are the backbone of this scientific endeavour. We could not envisage starting this journal without the support and professionalism of scientists interested in natural toxins and wishing to make this journal a success.

I would like to emphasize the compelling reasons for launching a new open-access journal in this ever expanding area of research, as well as our aspirations and vision for the future. I believe that it is important to have a journal which gives free access to its contents and promotes high-quality research and intellectual output of scientists who have limited access to main stream journals. We aim to bridge the gap so that authors get a wider audience for their high-quality scientific achievements. This is particularly true for scientists whose first language is not English. Thus we will work in partnership with such authors to ensure that their research is made freely available to the wider scientific community. I believe we will be publishing a significant number of high-quality original research article and scientific reviews from authors around the world. The Journal invites manuscripts in the areas of therapeutic, molecular and biochemical research on natural toxic metabolites – a broad-based theme that should appeal to the largest possible audience interested in this subject. We especially welcome clinical case studies and research papers from those areas of the world where envenomation is a significant public health issue. I look forward to a successful first year as Editor-in-Chief and welcome any comments or suggestions you may have that would improve the Journal.
